2011 New Years Resolutions

I have never been one for New Years Resolutions. I feel that if you want to do something and it it worthwhile then just do it, don’t wait for the New Year. That said, I am going to give it a go this year, as I am feeling both a little frustrated at the past couple of years progress and strangely inspired for the year ahead.

Before I go on to my list, I will just say these are my online/business resolutions, not my personal ones (losing weight, eating healtily etc… you really don’t need me to bore you with those).
So, here we go:
  • Blog more regularly. Ok, let’s quantify that. At least once a week.
  • Drop all unused domain names, unless they are being actively used & developed (or are particularly good names)
  • Set out some targets for overall online ad revenue and re-visit it every month to keep it on track
  • Identify ways of building a business, as opposed to simply creating extra “work” (blog post on that coming soon)
  • Develop the hosting business (needs more marketing). The product is great, infrastructure is there, just needs a push
  • Put aside some time every month to re-focus every one of my sites. 2009-10 has seen some “site neglect”
That is a fairly small list, but covers most of the things I want to focus on. I think the general feeling of it is doing things “little and often” to avoid getting bogged down and to keep things fresh.

2011 is going to be fast-paced and fresh. Don’t get me wrong, there was a lot to be proud of from 2010, it has been a fantastic year personally, but it’s time to kick-start 2011 with a bit of New Year motivation

Happy New Year!
